I did not make it to a gym.
Truth is I barely tried, BUT mark my fuckin words, I’m going to find one today.
It was a pretty busy day, woke up got my friggin salmon onigiri, grabbed a coffee and after that it was pretty much time to hit the venue.
We walked over to the venue and ran into the fellas in Kaonashi on the way. I met their new bass player his name is Jarry, I remember it because Tristan Jarry. He seems nice as hell.
Got into the venue while Sikth was doing their sound check. They’re absolutely wild players. Met most of them at some point during the day. Really nice fellas. Their guitar player reminds me of Paul from BTBAM. Not just because he’s a wild guitar player. Friggin tall, calm, good lookin silver fox. Impossible to hate.
We did our sound check, it was fine. Saw some old friends, shout out Takashi from Cyclamen. Then we did our meet and greet.
There was only about ten people. Everyone was super nice. This is a weird thing to say, but I’m gonna say it anyway. Japanese people’s hands seem really clean. That’s weird right? Whatever, their hands just seem cleaner than everyone else. They also seem hesitant to shake hands, which is maybe how they keep them so clean.
We played the show and it went well. The orchard did not seem to be received very well. There’s a little solo we added at the end of Blindfolds, it is hilarious to me and I love it so much.
my voice started to give out a little at the end, but over all felt good. I’m easing into screaming on this run. Trying to shout it a little more than scream it just for the sake of my voice but eventually the callus will grow and I’ll be able to do it better. I hope.
Feeling really grateful today, for the new friends I made, the old friends I saw, and the fact that I get to sing my stupid songs in places like Japan and people actually give a shit about it.
After the show I had a handful of beers, ate some noodles and went to bed. Woke up at 9 am today, I am officially on Japanese time. So I’m probably fucked for New Brunswick time next week. Whatever.
